The assembly held on Wednesday, December 14th, was a blast. The students who presented their end of semester projects did a great job and I could see that they worked really hard. Parents that attended were proud of their children. We took pictures for the yearbook while at the assembly. Friday marks the last day in 2011&#8230; as far as school is concerned. Now we are out for two weeks to enjoy our break. Some of us are planning on trying to obtain our driver&#8217;s license over the break. We have been waiting and waiting.We&#8217;ll just have to see how that works. Happy Holidays&#8230; from Bal Perazim!</p>

<div>Everyone is anxiously waiting for Christmas. In the meantime we are now preparing to take the ACT. Seniors are searching for scholarships and colleges. In Journalism, we are reading Huckleberry Finn, a controversial novel written by Mark Twain, and it is keeping us quite busy. We also just completed a Current Event Scrapbook-a project that has kept us busy all semester. We not only included local news from our very own Fayetteville Observer, but we included state and national news also. We are surely up to date on our  &#8221;NEWS&#8221;. We spent  a lot of time researching and learning about what effects our nation daily.I&#8217;m anxious to see my score!</div>

<div>This past week was a very short week at my school. The seniors and junior were relieved to receive their SAT scores. All of the students haven&#8217;t received their scores but Aaron Bowen,a junior scored a 1410 and Mason Jackson, senior scored 1380. When asked, both students excitedly plan to take the test again to score even higher. Both SAT instructors Mr. Grant Price and Mrs. S. Joyner  are proud of the yearly increase in scores. The ACT is coming up as well and they will be taking this test also. As a sophomore, I am glad to see them so ambitious and ready to take the tests. Now, all of my nervousness is going away. We ended our week with a Thanksgiving Dinner during lunch time;yet, our principle told us.. regardless of how much turkey we gobble this week, we must come back ready to hit full speed next week in preparation for our End of Course test.</div>

<div>In celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness month, our English 2 class made pink ribbons for the school. Our teacher, Mrs. Joyner, lost a loved one this time last year to breast cancer and so we made sure to take this assignment serious. I bought her a pink flower to school. We also wrote poems to encourage all women and men who had been effected by, yet overcame this disease. We learned that early detection and prevention is very helpful.  Healthy lifestyles are very needed to live long prosperous lives!</div>

<div>As this school year progresses quickly, our juniors and seniors are preparing for the many exciting events we will embark on this school year. Right now our focus in on the SAT. Our teachers, Mrs. Joyner (English/Reading) and Mr. Price (Math) are cooperatively working together to teach us strategies and enhance our skills so that we can continue to score higher and higher each year. Our Chief Administrator, Dr. Morris Braxton would like us to score a minimum of 1500. So we have a lot to do. While many schools are excited about football season, we are also excited- About Academics and the rewards are principal gives us when we earn it. Academics are the forerunner of BAL Perazim Christian Academy. We work hard then play later. I’m thankful.</div>

Last year we had Twin day, Flashback day, Nerd day, and Wacky Tacky day. Our &#8220;Dress Like a Teacher Day&#8221; put a smile on all of our teacher&#8217;s faces. Especially Mr. Price (High School Mathematics) because most of our boys dressed like him. I think everybody’s favorite day is Wacky Tacky day. We had a fashion show and took funny pictures to put in the yearbook. Students are able to express their “Eagle Pride” during spirit week. I can’t wait!!!</p>
